Eight-time All-Star guard / forward as a member of the Toronto Raptors who received the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year award. After winning the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, he built a major following, receiving the nickname “Vinsanity.” Born on January 26, 1977, in Daytona Beach, FL, Vince Carter played for five seasons alongside Jason Kidd on the New Jersey Nets. After his junior season, he shone at North Carolina University, making the Final Four twice, before entering the NBA draught. Having spent the first six years of his career with the Raptors, he played for five seasons on the Brooklyn Nets (at the time in New Jersey), then joined the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Memphis Grizzlies.
