Rick Riordan was born on 5 June 1964 in San Antonio, TX. American fantasy author of many bestselling and award-winning book series. His most popular plays include Percy Jackson & the Olympians, The Kane Chronicles, The Books of Tres Navarre, and The Labyrinth of Bones. He created the character Percy Jackson, who is portrayed in the Percy Jackson films by Logan Lerman. A graduate of the University of Texas, he spent nearly a decade teaching social studies and English at a high school in San Francisco. In 1997, he published Big Red Tequila, the first novel in his Tres Navarre series.
