Mike Stewart is a bodyboard and body surfer who is commonly regarded as the father of modern competitive bodyshell, a pioneer of big-wave tow-in surf techniques, and also a bodysurfing skills master. He is one of the most experienced bodyboarders since its inception and is now a World Champion 9 times since March 2020 and has won a record once in a year at the Banzai Pipeline event. His achievements in bodysailing were no less impressive, since he won a record 15 times in March 2020 for the Pipeline Bodysurfing Classic title. In 1998, he started up its boards line under the label Science Bodyboards. Mike was also heavily involved in designing and manufacturing bodyboards throughout his competitive career. The design of a bodyboarding machine composed by 14 components, the Gyroll leash, has proven to be valid.
