Matt Cornwell (born January 16, 1985 in Leicester, England) is a former rugby union player. He played fullback, fly-half and center. Playing his early rugby at Syston RFC and Oakham School, Cornwell played in Twickenham's two Daily Mail Cup Final victories, joining Leicester Tigers Academy as an under-16. He advanced to the senior team, making 42 appearances in four seasons, and captained Development XV in a 2005/06 Premiership' A' League title. He went on to play at the Exeter Chiefs in the 2011–12 National Championship of Excellence, followed by spells at the Northampton Saints and in Italy. He returned to Leicester Tigers for season 2012–13.
