Leon Goretzka has made a reputation for a central midfielder for big German clubs like VfL Bochum, FC Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich. He captured the Bundesliga title with the final of those clubs in the 2018–19 season, the 2018‐19 DFB-Supercup and the 2018 DFL-Supercup. At the international level, before making his debut as senior National Team member in May 2014, he represented Germany at the Under-16, UN-17, U-19 and Under-21 levels. He was a member of the German team who had won the Silvery medal at the 2016 Summer Olympic Summer Games as the 2012 UEFA European Under-17 Champion. In its first successful appearance in Germany, it was the joint lead scorer (3 goals) at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017.
