Kim Rae-won is a South Korean actor known to have appeared in numerous shows and films such as A Thousand Days ' Promise, My Love Patzzi, Plum Blossom, The Doctors, Cats on the Roof, Love Story in Harvard, My Little Sister, What Star Are You From, and Black Knight: The Man Who Watches Me. Besides that, he has also succeeded in building a decent fan base on social media with more than 500k Instagram followers.
Kim Rae-won initially wanted to become a professional basketball player, but when the wounded ankle tendon ended his childhood dream, he started turning to acting and studied theater and film at Chung-Ang University. He screen debut in the 1997 teen drama Me, in the role of a newbie in the broadcasting club of his high school. This was accompanied by another teen drama, School 2 (1999) and the coming-of-age movie Plum Blossom (2000).

On 28 September 2011, Kim was reportedly engaged in a physical altercation with a waitress at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, where he and employees of his former Bless Entertainment agency were drinking. He denied, claiming that he had only interceded in a verbal argument between the woman and the representative of the agency, and subsequently apologized publicly for the incident.
Kim has long been rumored to come from a very affluent family, which he denied during his guest appearance at the Healing Camp talk show on 14 January 2013, although he confirmed that he had inherited an apartment unit during high school, as well as a large sum of money from his grandma.
