Katya Jones, formerly known as Ekaterina Sokolova, was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and began dancing at the age of six.
Its teachers were Radik and Eva Bagautdinov.
She was already expected to perform at Blackpool when she broke up with her dance partner. She went with her mother instead. Previously she worked with Karen Hardy and Richard Porter, and they put her in touch with Neil Jones, and Katya and Neil formed a dance partnership and later a romantic one.
It was announced in August 2019 that Katya and Neil Jones had broken up. They were married for 6 years and together they were 11 years old.
