Peterson played Dean Smith’s Basketball at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he was Jordan’s roommate. Peterson was a member of the Tar Heels Team, which won the 1982 National Championship. Later, in 1985, he was drawn up by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the seventh round of that year’s NBA draft, but he chose to play overseas.
