Later, he attended Heidelberg College in Ohio with aspirations to be an accountant, but one of his football coaches saw his comedic routines and persuaded him to try theater and communication. He played a broad receiver on the Heidelberg football team. In his last semester in 1980, Regan dropped out of school to try a stand-up comedy (he finished his degree in 1997). Brian 's uncle, Dennis Regan, is also working as a stand-up comedian.
