Apolo Anton Ohno was born in Seattle , Washington, on May 22, 1982. He is an American retired short-track speed skating competitor and eight-time gold medalist, two silver medalist, four bronze medalist at the Winter Olympics. Ohno is America’s most decorated Olympian at Winter Olympics and was inducted into the U.S. 2019 Olympic Hall of Fame.
In 2006 and 2010 he returned to the Olympics winning a record eight medals for a U.S. The olympic games. He also competed and won the Stars on Dancing’s fourth season.

Apolo Anton Ohno was born on May 22, 1982 in Seattle , Washington. After watching the 1994 Winter Olympics with his father, Apolo Anton Ohno was already an experienced swimmer and in-line skater. He emerged quickly as leading short-track skater.
He trained with U.S. national speeds kating coach Pat Wentland in Lake Placid, New York, when Ohno was only 14. Away from home and friends, Ohno rebelled against the rigors of training, choosing to eat pizza instead of complete runs. Ohno scored his first major victory in 1997, winning U.S. short-track championship.
