Before joining the Jersey Shore cast, Pivarnick worked as a waitress. Jersey Shore premiered on 4 December 2009. In the third episode of season one, she was evicted from the shore house after refusing to work her shift at the T-shirt shop. Then she was on Jersey Shore season two in Miami Beach, Florida, and Pivarnick left the house again in season two after violent clashes with fellow cast members Michael Sorrentino and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. She didn't come back for season three. In 2010, Pivarnick released a song called “I'm Hot.” She and her boyfriend appeared in season 1 of the VH1 reality show Couples Therapy, which premiered on March 25, 2012.
In 2011, Pivarnick made a brief appearance in the music video for the Dacav5 rap group song “Dirty Style.” She also appeared as a contestant for the reality dating series Excused. She made it to the final round and Sergio was chosen to try dating each other. Later she released a new song, “Got ta Go Out,” called Miss AP in August 2011, featuring “Fenix” by Tony Hanson. In September 2012, she held a debate with the recording artist Adam Barta on the subject of gay marriage, which she said she opposed. Later, she reversed her position after Jersey Shore's co-star JWoww criticized her on Twitter and apologized publicly through TMZ.
